Hollywood Walk of Fame 50th Anniversary Maintenance and Repairs Project

Since its inception in 2009, LAS Engineering, Inc. has had the opportunity to provide civil engineering services for the 50th Anniversary Maintenance and Repairs Project of the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

LAS Engineering, Inc. completed an assessment of the existing conditions along the Walk of Fame. Each star was photographed, and given a grade (A-F) based on the condition of the star. Items such as broken curbs, and other areas in need of repair were also documented.This assessment was updated to track the most current conditions and prioritize areas of repair.

A topographic survey of the entire Walk of Fame was provided.Base maps were provided to document the existing conditions along the Walk of Fame. A data base of star locations, with star names, star categories and star numbers were also provided by LAS Engineering, Inc.

New specifications were developed by the City and LAS Engineering, Inc. to improve the longevity of the Walk of Fame by adding a thicker sub section and expansion joints among other details.

LAS Engineering is currently provided Project Management Survey, and Civil Engineering and Permitting services for the first two phases of this project. The Scope of Services includes preparation and permitting of B-Permit Plans for two blocks along the historic Walk of Fame. Several areas of smaller repair were also designed and construction including removal and replacement of curb ramps to meet current ADA standards.Several new areas of repair are under design and will be scheduled for construction in the near future.
